Sleep Training

It has been a week of binki weaning, some crying, and lots of stress on my part. But it is worth it now that my little burrito can fall asleep by herself in her crib. I just can't let her get over-tired (in other words, let her stay awake for more than an hour and a half) or leave the house at all and she won't cry.

Is it just me, or does everyone's UPS man come during nap time and ring the door bell, which sounds 10 times louder than usual.

That picture is stinkin' adorable! Love it. And Dave disconnected our doorbell for that very reason!

I LOVE that picture. Our UPS guy just leaves the package on the porch. I wonder why we don't have to sign anymore?

Once our squirt got too big to swaddle, we were surprised at how well she acclimated. Then we discovered she found her THUMB! Another thumb sucker...sigh. She is such a beauty. I see a lot of Kimmy in her-I guess I should say Brian, but she is so darn feminine! :D

Sarah, that's better than putting up a sign! I'll see if we can figure it out.
Jeanne, yes, I've tried to transition her out of the swaddle slowly, but she didn't sleep as well with her hand out. I even did it once I noticed she started to suck her hands when she was up. Doesn't she look JUST like Brian?? It's really crazy. I've decided the only thing she got from me is the sticky-outie left ear.

She's so cute. I can't wait til I live closer and can come visit more often.

Good luck with fine tuning the sleep schedule :)

Pretty cute burrito! She looks a little like both of you, but I have to agree that she looks more like her daddy...but don't despair, Brian looked more like his daddy when he was tiny, and look at him now!

So cute! Carter normally breaks out of his swaddle twice a night - when I hear him I go in and quickly re-swaddle and he's back asleep. Though yesterday morning I let him fall back asleep with his hands out....the boy is so stink'n strong! We double swaddle (receiving blanket 1st then re-wrap him in an organic swaddle blanket with velcro) Still gets out! Happy days to come when he can just sleep with a blanket... Good luck with Esme and the transitions!
